The Animal Rescue Rhodes team is dedicated to helping animals in need across the island of Rhodes. Led by George Kritikos, the team works every day to rescue, protect, transport and support animals that are abandoned, injured, neglected or living in unsafe conditions.
Every rescue mission matters. For an animal that is injured, frightened, abandoned or without protection, fast action can make the difference between suffering and safety.
Animal rescue is not only about responding to emergencies. It is about cooperation, responsibility and immediate action when an animal has no one else to help. Our team works closely with the police, the municipality, local shelters, veterinarians and animal welfare organisations, so that animals can receive the care, safety and attention they need as quickly as possible.
Many of the animals we help are found in difficult or dangerous situations. Some are injured, some are lost, some have been abandoned, and others come from very poor living conditions. In many cases, rescue work requires experience, patience, proper handling and safe transport, especially when an animal is frightened, hurt or unable to move safely.
Our rescue vehicle plays an important role in this work, allowing us to respond to rescue missions, transport animals to veterinarians, support neutering efforts and reach animals that urgently need help. Every rescue mission also brings costs, including fuel, veterinary care, medication, food and shelter support.
